Mosquito traps in southern Denton County have tested positive for West Nile Virus. The affected areas are located in the southwestern portion of the county and south of Argyle.

Denton County Public Health will be taking action to address the issue by fogging the affected areas. The fogging is scheduled to take place between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Residents are advised to take precautions to minimize the risk of contracting West Nile Virus, including draining standing water in their yards and neighborhoods to prevent mosquito breeding. Further details on the affected areas and fogging schedule are available from Denton County Public Health.
