North Texas is experiencing intense summer heat ahead of the Fourth of July. The region is not alone in its sweltering conditions, as heat alerts are affecting over 20 states.

These states are located in the Plains, Midwest, and Great Lakes areas. North Texas, however, is having its own unique brand of summer heat this week.
