A local church in Flower Mound is hosting an event to give back to the community. Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church is packing meals and collecting canned goods for nonprofits. The event is taking place over two days, with volunteers working to pack a large number of meals to fight global hunger.

The church is also collecting canned foods for local organizations, with a goal of collecting 1,500 items. This goal has already been exceeded, thanks in part to a local bakery's social media campaign. As of recently, the church has collected over 2,000 canned goods.

Further details about the event and the church's efforts are available from the Cross Timbers Gazette.
